These boards are generally used for supporting and connecting wires of an electronic. PCB’s consists of glass fiber and some copper coils attached. Different types of PCB

- Single Sided:
These are the most basic type of printed circuit board. It has one thin layer of the baseboard or substrate. The substrate is further covered up with a thin layer of a conducting metal sheet, mainly copper. These are comparatively cheaper and can be easily used in electronic devices. These components are excellent for simple electronic devices.
- Double Sided:
Unlike single-sided PCBs, the substrate has a sheet of conductive metal on both sided. Holes are made to ensure that one side can be easily connected to the other side.
These PCB circuit boards are much complex in nature. Some extra layers of designs have been added to ensure the faster performance of a device. These layers are often called power planes.
When increasing the number layer wasn’t doing much good, manufacturers decided to modify the inflexibilities. Well, rigid boards can also be called inflexible boards. The rigid substrate is attached to fiberglass that constraint the board from moving and twisting. The motherboard is then attached to this.
These printed circuits boards are flexible and can perform almost everything an inflexible board can. The substrate of these is made up of highly flexible plastic. They are mostly used in making super electronic devices such as Satellites. These are not at all cheap, but the advantages flex boards come worth all the money spent on it.
The name says it all. The rigid-flex circuit board is a result of innovation in technology. The board consists of a rigid board attached to a flex board. These are highly recommended flex boards.
